WHY I WROTE THIS BOOK
Can you win in love?
In November of 2021 I started writing my first novel and the book came easy for me. When my sister, Lorraine died, my mind wouldn't allow me to focus and I couldn’t finish. Because I believe in the message and wanted to fulfill my promise to Lorraine, I pressed through my grief to bring Love Wins to you. This book is special to me because I am writing it to bridge the gap between God and humanity in a different way. This is an urban fiction novel, much different from my first book, but I am sure you will meet God in these pages.
This is the story of every "around-the-way" girl and guy in the hood who is learning from their missteps in relationships and redefining themselves after being misrepresented and misunderstood. When we take our eyes off of God we lose sight of our dreams.
This book is about trauma, friendship, community, and love. It shows how obstacles in our lives can make or break us, yet when we dig deep we can understand that love can show up in the most unexpected ways. I want you to be inspired by hope. Love always wins.
I am a licensed social worker and I did not want to introduce trauma without giving you, my readers, a way to talk through some of the topics you will read about.
